The Other Kids

+ Q&A with Irish Football Association

New Notions presents in partnership with Cinemagic Festival, The Other Kids.

Hundreds of millions of African kids play football every day. For many of them football grants are the only way to access education. In some cases, it is their only way to survive. The life of Mubiru Rigan depends on one of these sport grants. He dreams of being the next Fernando Torres and scoring the goal that brings Uganda their first African Cup. In The Other Kids we follow Rigan for over a year as he overcomes numerous challenges in pursuit of his dream.

The film will be accompanied by a Q&A/discussion with a representative from the Irish Football Association (IFA) to highlight the universal themes from the film in a local context.

Supported by Film Hub NI - Part of the BFI Film Audience Network. In partnership with Cinemagic Festival.
